The DASH Eating Plan

The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute supported an investigational study on types of diets to reduce heart disease risk and high blood pressure. According to NHLBI Director Elizabeth G. Nabel, M.D., "Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension, "DASH", can go a long way toward improving overall heart health." The new DASH Eating Plan menus are included in the newly released book A Healthier You published by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Childhood Obesity-What Research Tells Us

George Washington University School of Public Health and Health Services has posted a fact sheet on their Website entitled "Childhood Overweight- What the Research Tells US". It is an overview of some long term health effects and complications of obesity in children.
